Have you heard a lot about how fun improv is and how much value it can add to your life and thought, too bad I can’t do that? This intro offering from ZipLine Improv might be for you if you are intrigued by what you’ve heard but have been intimidated by any of the following:
I don’t like attention
I can’t compete with “funny”
I’m not fast/loud/clever
I don’t like groups
Now consider these benefits:
Open to your unique creative flow
Connect with others
Laugh a lot
While the improv foundations remain the same as our other classes—games and exercises designed to get us out of our heads and into the moment—our approach will be tailored for those of us who need a little more time to get out of our shells.
Of the class, Rachel W says: You know what's the first great thing about going to a class called ''Improv for Introverts?" It's that when you first walk in on your own to a room full of strangers, what is usually a challenging moment for any introvert is just ... not. Because you know that everyone else in there is probably feeling the same!
The second great thing about Improv for Introverts is that it's taught by Laura, who creates a safe, calm, supportive space to laugh, to try things out, and to learn. In years of studying improv, I don't think I've ever been to such a calm improv class, and it was incredibly refreshing. We worked on the value of listening, of being present in the moment, and of taking our time in scene work. I highly recommend it to any introverts out there who secretly desire to make that leap into improv. Laura makes it a lot less scary than our minds can!
